PARTICIPANTSCAN WALKERS PARTICIPATE IN EITHER THE HALF MARATHON OR 5K? Yes, walkers are welcome in either event. However, all participants must complete the 5k within 1 hour and the half marathon within 4.5 hours. To complete the half marathon by 12:00 pm, you must maintain a pace of 20:00 minutes per mile (or faster). DO I HAVE TO BE PART OF A TEAM TO PARTICIPATE? There are two ways in which you can register for The Women's Half Marathon: either as an individual or as a team. To register a team you need at least 5 female participants, one of whom will also be designated as the captain. You will also need a team name. The captain sets up the team and registers herself, and then all other members can register under that team name. All members of the team run the full 13.1 Half Marathon course. The five fastest female times will be added together for the team score. All team members are also eligible for individual awards. The Women's Half Marathon is open to both men & women however there are only awards for women. We suggest men only do the race in support of a woman or a charity. If he is looking to win a race, get an award, or PR we would be happy to suggest some other events in the local area that would be better suited for those goals.
